Caramel Cake pudding

 Last night I made some pudding after dinner for my family and I choose to make one of my favourites which were caramel cake pudding and it was pretty easy to make apart from the mixing part because it'd get harder and harder the more I mixed but in the end, it tasted good (Top photo is when we cooked it and bottom is before we cooked it)

For a topic, we did stuff on ads like how they get your attention and how they work and how the colours work. I made one on Cheetos because It felt easier to do than another ad, I also made a gun safety ad.

Buzz Quiz - Careers

 

For our t-shaped literacy we made a video describing if the Quiz we've done is accurate or not I don't really think it is because when I did it, it said jobs I wasn't interested in So I don't really think its that accurate.

Great Walks NZ

 

Today we write about the 10 great walks in NZ and this is what I made It was fun to make and learn about the great walks because I have never heard of them before so I learnt a lot from this.

We made some leaf art to represent us for me I did some on the flags of the countries I'm part of and at the bottom i added the other things like basketball and gaming because I really enjoy both of those.

 

Reading - Jackdaw

for our reading, we did a jackdaw for all our information once we finished everything else and this picture is my one it's about the boy in the striped pyjamas we write the characters, the setting, theme, plot and moral. It was fun and easy to make and I liked drawing

 

Dixon House writing.

 

Dixon House home for old people right next to a park it’s normally where old people go when they can’t do things for themselves so they go there to get help with doing things. On Tuesday we went to the Dixon house to go read some books and chat with the old people because we were invited to go with the polytech because it was national read a story month, we took a bus to get there and we had to walk a tiny bit to get to the house the people from the polytech brung baking and mini chocolate bars for us and the old people to eat because after a while of reading and chatting we ate I had some lolly cake and chocolate because there my favourite some of the people we read to couldn’t hear that good or couldn’t see that good so it made it hard for them to hear us reading. How it made you feel? At the start when we first went there I didn’t really feel that comfortable because I didn’t know anyone there but after we started reading to them I started to get more comfortable around them and started reading to more and more every time which made me more comfortable with the people around me that I was reading to. What did you enjoy the most? Meeting the old people and getting along with them one of them also said I spoke very clearly and was a very good reader which was a nice compliment for me because I thought I wasn’t that clear when I read stuff to other people. The food they made was also very nice to eat and i enjoyed it What did you learn from it? I learnt that one person I read to they learnt how to tell if someone can talk nicely and read clearly to other people which is a pretty cool skill to have to tell if people are clear and good at speaking to other people around you

The Israel with Palestine conflict.

 

Today for current events for our topic that we had to write about I choose to do the Israel vs Palestine conflict that has been going on. To me its a very interesting topic because of the conflict.

Mini Research - Tiger Tank I

 

For something, we could do we had the option to do a mini-research and I did it about the Tiger Tank I from WW2 because I'm very fascinated with these tanks and their true power.

This is a podcast we made explaining our staff room we made for T-Shaped literacy, It took a while to make. It was fun recording it.

What I found challenging: we had to write a script for it because we kept messing it up and it took a while because we had to keep trying different scripts to use and eventually we got the right one.

For out T-shaped literacy we made a building that should have solar power in our school, and we chose the staff room. I found building challenging because we had to plan the layout really good and measure the walls and roof the make sure it fit and in the end it all worked out and fit together.

 

5 Reasons why fitness is good for you.

 

Today we did a list of 5 reasons why fitness is good for you, I learnt that: getting more fit in your life is a very good thing for you and can help reduce chances of getting some diseases and can help you live for long because if you are overweight it can affect your life span and make you live for a shorter amount of time then a healthy fit person would. this was easy to make because I just had to research about why it's good for you and write down some answers, I think this is a good example of why you should push yourself to the max whilst doing fitness. What I also Learnt: out of this I figured out that it can reduce heart diseases which is something I did not know and now it makes me rethink my body and how I'll use it in life I also figured out it can help control your sugar blood level which can help stop diabetes and it would also be useful because sometimes I don't have the energy to do chores and if you really fit you'd have all the energy you would need to get your chores done. I hope this taught you about why fitness is good for your body and that you should start getting good exercise if you need it which can really help with your job because people can get very tired at jobs and with all the energy it can help you work your full job. and the more you do the better you can do. What was the hardest bit: Making this blog post and getting the questions because I had to really think about the questions in the google drawing and I had to think about what to include in the blog captain which normally I don't do lots but I'm trying my best to make this BTB. I hope you enjoy reading about this.

Solar Power in Tokelau

 

For a T-shaped literacy activity, we had to make a DLO about Tokelau a small nation why they switched to being 100% Solar power and ditched fossil fuels. And they are the first to have 100% renewable energy.

What I found challenging, Nothing really because this song only took around 3 attempts to make, so yeah not the challenging apart from writing to lyrics and that.

What I enjoyed: I enjoyed making the song because it was fun to write my own song and sing to it but it was also hard to figure out the lyrics because it was a rap song.

For out t-shaped literacy we did it about energy and we had to do some questions and for our questions, these are the answers I got out of the video.

You went where? - Alexandra

For our writing we did we went where to talk about where we went on the Christmas holiday, I chose Alexandra because I spent 1 week there with family and spent Christmas there as well.
Alexandra

Alexandra is a nice quiet town in central Otago not many people live there, and it’s boiling, so it’s a nice place to go in the holidays because it’s also near Queenstown which has lots of fun things to do, in Alexandra, there are some things to do the most popular would be going to the lake at the dam or going for a bike ride on the many trails they have. And there are lots of people with horses there everywhere you go you’ll at least see some horses if it’s the right day and the right area. Alexandra also has lots of orchards to grow fruit in so most of the surrounding area is pretty much orchards and places like wineries.

Alexandra at day: In Alexandra, its always a hot dry day everyone’s lawns are full of dry grass no green on the site, the concrete feels like Lava if you don’t have shoes on, and all you can hear is sprinklers in peoples backyard trying to make the grass green. Alexandra is a small town located in central Otago in the south island which is near Dunedin. Alexandra is not the best place to do fun stuff but there are Queenstown and fun towns next door. Alexandra also has lots of orchards that grow fruit the most favourite fruit is cherries over in Alexandra the cherries only sell up to $10 a kg, and at the cost there $25 a kg and due to that there are lots of places with fruit ice cream and fruit snacks the best place there is a cafe/ice cream shop mix with a playground, minigolf, a big ball pit and other fun stuff to do. Also, near Alexandra is a dam which made a lake in that lake used to be parts of a town but when they got the notice they had to move, and I have lots of family in Alexandra as well so we went down there in Christmas to see our family. Also, there are lots of bike tracks to ride in Alexandra people normally rent electrical bikes to help them bike it. Also in the lake, there are lots of people with boats and people are jet skiing, water skiing, and all that. 

Alexandra at night: At night Alexandra is cold, unlike day. Sprinklers are no longer running in peoples backyard, the concrete is now cold and not lava hot, and everyone is in there houses unless there working the night shift. Normally before 8:00 I’d go to the park and go on the playground with my nieces, and we’d play on the roundabout and nearly puke. Not much people are around just some teens playing their music at max volume with there windows down driving past, and people going out for a jog. And really nothing else.

Energy Mobile

 

For our T-Shaped Literacy, we created an energy mobile that has forms of energy on it, for me and Liams we did nuclear, kinetic, potential, and wind energy. It was really fun to make and it was pretty easy to make.

The challenging part: Was making the strings go through the holes and making the holes because it would sometimes destroy it and I had to make it again.

Favourite part: My favourite part was putting it up on the line because I got to see my mobile in actions which was pretty cool

Vanuatu - French speaking country

 

Today I wrote about the french, Bislama, and English speaking country of Vanuatu. I liked writing about this place as it was much easy due to the face that I've been there before so it gives me more information to write about it.
