Making Cars (Year 6 Tech)

For our year 6 tech, We made cars using cardboard, balloons, milk, caps, and tape.

It was really hard making the car because you had to make the tires move which was hard to do.

The fun bit was when the tires moved for once which was pretty good because no one's tires would move for some reason when we reached them ours did not move sadly.

Tin-foil Boat (Year 6 Tech)

Today (7.11.19) we made tin foil boats at our year 6 tech the goal was to see whose boat could hold the most blocks

It was really fun/funny that our one could only hold 2 blocks because it was shaped like a canoe that did not have a flat bottom so that made it lean.

It was hard making it and copying our design we drew because it did not look like we wanted it to be a submarine but could not do it.

Term 3 Reflcection

This is my term 3 Reflection.

WALT: Reflect on our term.

I enjoyed making 3d art mostly because it probably turned out the best.

I found math the most challenging because I don't always get it.

I got BTB (Better than before) at coding when we did scratch.

Last week we made oven cooked chips and another group made microwave cooked ones wer shared them together and I think the oven ones tasted way better i think its because my buddy added to much salt and oil.

Hokey Pokey

WALT: Explain the science (what's happening) when hokey pokey is made. This means I can explain: What did. What happened. Why this happened (what's the science?). What could you change, add or improve to make it BTB (Better Than Before) When we made the hokey pokey we were lucky for it not to burn. It was very hard to stir when we added the baking soda because we had to stir it fast. Our hokey pokey turned out chewy it was meant to be hard but it tasted better chewy.  I really enjoyed eating it at the end because it was really sweet.

Transformation using grids

Today we found an accredited image on Explore and selected it to use on our page. We then put a 5x5 grid on it so we could copy the image and make it original. Mrs. Minehan selected the first two images so we could understand the process, then we got to choose our own image. 

I found the first one hard because at the start I wasn't used to making them.

The second one was The tree which I found easy because I got the hang of it after the first one

I chose the image of my tree I made it was very hard making it but I am proud of what I have made.

How to have a litterless luchbox

This is How you can have a litterless lunchbox we did this so people could have a 0% litter lunch

At our Wellington camp, we made music. We did at Capital E at the start it was pretty hard but on the way, I got used to it I made one with beatboxing and music mixed together. I also got to use different features with made the music sound better then I was when I first completed it.

Composting Video

I enjoyed making the video and being the baker. It was hard to not say the wrong words.

My Recount of Te papa

At the te papa museum Wellington I was in awe as I saw the waharoa I wondered if a basketball player made it because it was very tall. After that, we went to a very old cannon it must have been heavy and someone on the ship must have lifted weights 24/7 to lift it. After the cannon went we to a room called Fire Water Blood. The was rocks from volcanos and we could touch them they were very soft and then there were animals like deer, sheep, birds, etc then we went and saw extinct animals then we went in a little cave and did a mini bush walk with a bouncy bridge and then we went to the gallop war room and there were people that were 2x the size of us and they were so real you could see the sweat dripping off of them and the hair on them and they would show you the guns and a mini version of the camp and trenches we also got to wear the hats they wore in war and sit in one of the rooms they slept in and videos of the battles they fought in. In the end, you got to put a poppy in a bowl with a statue.

Waka Hoe

This is my hoe we have made it for our class waka it has 3 flags on it Moari, England and Scotland. And it also has my family knight on as my ancestors are from Scotland.  There are some Moari patterns too because I am 50% Moari. My favorite part was making the knight because it was really challenging copying it off a screen. Next time to be BTB I could outline my knight better and not rush while drawing.
